Taste of Minnesota 2025 Is Back and Bolder Than Ever

There’s something about Minneapolis in the summer. The patios fill up, music spills into the streets, and suddenly the city feels more alive, electric, even. And at the center of it all? Taste of Minnesota.

If you’ve lived here long enough, you’ve heard the name. Maybe you’ve wandered past a main stage and caught a set you couldn’t believe was free. Maybe you’ve stood in line for a fried pickle or watched your best friend attempt to salsa dance in the middle of Washington Avenue. Or maybe, just maybe, this will be your first time. In that case, let us say this: You’re in for something unforgettable!

A Festival That Feeds the City

Taste of MN isn’t just a food festival. It’s a reflection of who we are, midwestern to our core, but unafraid to mix it up. It’s where Vietnamese iced coffee meets locally brewed kombucha, where hip hop follows a family gospel group on stage, and where a kid’s first funnel cake is as magical as someone’s fiftieth. It’s local, loud, laid-back, and layered. It’s us.

Set in the heart of downtown Minneapolis, the festival takes over Nicollet Mall and Washington Avenue in early July, just when the city hits that sweet spot of summer perfection. The streets fill with music, the smells of food from every direction, and people, lots of people connecting over shared bites and shared rhythms.

And let’s talk about that music. This year’s lineup is looking especially stacked (and no, we won’t spill just yet). What we can say is that you're going to want to arrive early, stay late, and maybe bring that friend who somehow knows every lyric to every genre. It’s that kind of vibe.

More Than Music and Food

What makes Taste of MN stand out isn’t just the headliners or the eats, it’s the experience. The moments in between. The small business owners proudly serve their handmade dishes. The pop-up art installations tucked between vendor booths. The community energy that doesn’t feel curated, but real.

There’s something for every kind of festival-goer. Foodie? You’ll be in heaven. Music lover? Clear your weekend. Just here for the vibes? Say less, this is your playground!

Kids, pets, groups, solo wanderers, people who "just came to look" they all belong here. And every year, something unexpected happens. A surprise guest. A dance battle. A moment that reminds you summer doesn’t last forever, but while it’s here, we party.

Our Feature in The Local

Here’s the part we’re really excited about: Taste of Minnesota is taking the stage in our upcoming Summer Edition of The Local, our curated guide to the Twin Cities season.
